The awards are presented by Radio Ink magazine. The Medallas de Cortez awards recognize excellence in Hispanic radio programming, sales, and management. Said Garcia Solis, Content Director for Que Buena Los Angeles, and producer of the station’s award-winning syndicated morning show, “Don Cheto Al Aire,” received the award on behalf of the station.

This award represents the hard work and passion of our staff, who are committed to the Los Angeles community and presenting and supporting the best in Regional Mexican music today.”

The Medallas de Cortez Awards are named in honor of Raoul Cortez, who founded the first Spanish-language radio station in the United States, KCOR in San Antonio.
